Flowering of the Puya

One of our most popular events at the Garden in Spring is the flowering of the Puya which is uniquely blue. The Puya is a genus of the botanical family Bromeliaceae, subfamily Pitcairnioideae. These terrestrial plants are native to the Andes Mountains of South America and southern Central America.
